Jam With the Bands (at the workshop tent) – Jam with the Bands is a fun time to jam, trade licks, and swap stories with bands performing on the Kickoff Main Stage. We'll have several bands lined up to jam with you in relaxed jamming setting. So bring your instrument to the Workshop Tent on Friday at 8:00 PM, Saturday at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, and Sunday at 10:00 AM.
Friday 8:00 PM - Jam with Barton's Hollow. It’s special to jam with the next generation of Bluegrassers doing their thing. Play along with this talented young bunch of players and singers for a great “kickoff” to the Kickoff weekend!
Saturday 10:00 AM - Jam with Blue Yodel #9. The gents of Blue Yodel #9 will kick your morning up a notch. Bluegrass and old-time nuggets are all up for a try. Bring your axe, voice, a cup of Joe and join in!
Saturday 6:00 PM - Jam with The Platte Valley Boys. These guys have been doing it right for 37 years! Come play with the Upper Midwest’s veterans of traditional bluegrass. You’re sure to cover some old gems and a favorite or two from the bluegrass songbook.
Sunday 10:00 AM - Jam with Alabaster Falls. Bill, Paul and Julie of Alabaster Falls mix great harmonies with sweet instrumental work. Get a last fun jam in with some great playing and singing
Gathering Place Jams - Bill Cagley will be back in 2012 to lead two of his popular jam sessions on both Saturday and Sunday. On both days he will lead a jam especially for beginners starting at 11:00 AM. Bill will also host an intermediate level jam on Saturday at 3:00 PM and on Sunday at 2:00 PM.
Kickoff Jamming – As you walk or ride one of the free Kickoff shuttles around the festival campground, bluegrass and old-time musicians from across the Midwest will keep the campfires ringing with jamming – around the clock.
