The Berge Family
The Berge Family
is a gospel bluegrass band from the northern Minnesota town
of Bemidji. The band consists of husband and wife Ken and Rebecca
and their two daughters, Melanie and Mindy. Their music includes
traditional and old-time gospel, original songs, instrumentals,
and vocal harmonies including four-part a cappella. Instruments
include guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and upright bass. The Berge
Family has performed at churches, fairs, festivals, benefits,
and private events. Their travels have taken them to Texas,
Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Canada, Minnesota,
and even South America. They were nominated in 2001 for SPBGMA's
Fan Choice Award/Bluegrass Gospel Band of the Year in the Midwest.
