Kickoff Volunteers Needed

Did you know that Minnesota Homegrown Kickoff volunteers are automatically entered into a Saturday evening drawing for Free MBOTMA Festival Tickets? They are! So, what do volunteers do? Check this out!

"My name is Roger Jorgenson and I'm from Fargo, ND. Most folks in MBOTMA know me as 'Howie'. I am 'transportation coordinator' and arrange for and oversee operations of the golf carts you see buzzing around. I put lights on the carts and make sure they are all filled with gas during setup, operations and clean-up phases of both summer festivals at El Rancho. My wife, Maggie, & I (as well as our three children) have been volunteers at the festivals for years and frequently 'float' as we are needed, helping in setup, tear-down, reserved camping, HQ, T-shirt booth, etc (wherever we are needed)."

So sign up below or check at the Gathering Place to find out about and sign up for volunteering at the Kickoff. Volunteers still pay their own admission, but they get a discount coupon for the shirt stand and get their name put into a drawing for prizes on Saturday night. The more slots your name is on the more chances you have.

To Sign Up: Below is a list of the things we need help with. Email Executive Director Jed Malischke and ask him to fill in your name for any of the open times below. And thank you.

Gaffer (Set Up). Helps with getting the site ready for the festival on Thursday or Friday. Setting up parking areas with flagging, signs, and maybe some fencing. Cleaning the stage, unloading equipment, etc. Some physically demanding activities. Recommended you bring work gloves (gloves are also available there). Report to mainstage area.

Concert Area Clean-up. We need a couple people both Saturday and Sunday morning to come pick up a golf car and then go through the concert area and the dance tent and clean things up from the night before. You can do it pretty much anytime before the music starts, but we list it on the schedule from 8AM 10AM.
