Ticket Policies
Everyone age 13 and over will be required to present a ticket or pay the appropriate admission fee before they can enter the grounds. You must have the correct ticket for the day in your possession. Advance single day tickets are good for any day. No camping is allowed with single day tickets. MBOTMA member discounts are available only in advance. Individual members may order one member discount ticket. Family (or higher level) members can order up to four tickets at the member discount. Admission for children age 12 and under is free with an adult admission. Admission for teens age 13-19 is $10 in advance or at the gate and includes any or all days plus camping.
Camping Policies
Unimproved camping for Thursday through Saturday nights is included with multiple day ticket packages and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The day of your arrival, not the length of your stay, determines which ticket you need. If you arrive on Thursday you need a Th-Su ticket package, on Friday a Fr-Su ticket package, and on Saturday a Sa-Su ticket package. Teen tickets (age 13-19) are $10 both in advance or at the gate and are good for any day or for the entire weekend including camping.
The rough camping area will not be open until 2:00 PM on the Sunday prior to the opening of the festival. Prior to Thursday night rough campers are subject to a per-night fee of $15/person (with a maximum of $30), payable to El Rancho Mañana. Campfires are only allowed in campground provided fire rings or suitable off-the-ground fire containers. No roping of sites is allowed in the rough camping area. Tents or vehicles must occupy space.Where fire rings are not installed you must provide your own suitable off-the-ground fire container. Fires must not be left unattended.
Some improved/utility sites are available for an additional fee. These are sold by reservation only through a waiting list. You can get on the waiting list starting on February 1st or after by calling (800-635-3037) or emailing (info@minnesotabluegrass.org) and asking to be on the campsite waiting list. If you have to leave a message we will confirm with you that we have received it. This doesn't guarantee a site, just the potential for one. About June 1st we expect to know how many sites we will have available and will contact you if we have one for you. You can place your reservation for it at that time. If no site is available for you this year, you will need to call again the following year on February 1st or after to get on each year's new waiting list.
Each reserved/utility site includes one electrical plug-in, one water hook-up, one picnic table, space for one primary camping unit and one additional automobile, and use of the dump station. The reservation fee is $75, which covers all three nights of the festival (campers must pay El Rancho Mañana's normal rates and make advance reservations for any other nights). There are a few yet-to-be-electric reservations that come with a picnic table only. The reservation fee for these is $45 until electricity and water is made available. Most electrical boxes have 30 amp circuits available. There is a limit of one power cord per reservation, no piggy-backing of electrical cords is allowed. Reserved camping is limited to MBOTMA members and you must be a member in good standing when you make the reservation. All individuals entering to camp must also have the correct camping ticket package for the the day they enter. No camping is allowed with single day tickets. Once you get a reserved/utility site you are given first choice of that site every year as long as you wish to keep it.
Additional information about camping can be found on the Frequently Asked Questions page.
