Early Bird JamHello Musicians and Singers! We will again be hosting an Early Bird Bluegrass Jam at the Fall Jam, on November 7, beginning at 6:00. ALL levels of players are Welcome and no-one is expected to lead songs/breaks/or know all the lyrics to songs… just HAVE A GOOD TIME, meet other musicians, encourage each other, and TUNE! We follow some standard Bluegrass Jamming Etiquette, and food and beverages are close by if you’re arriving straight from work! AND, participation is FREE – no ticket/wristband needed Thursday night! See Ya There!! | TicketsTickets to Fall Jam & GMUG, plus the 3-Day Guitar & Fiddle Workshops and the 50th Anniversary Concert Celebration are on sale now! Draw BandsWhat Is It?A Draw Band Scramble is an event where bands are randomly selected by drawing names from a hat! You've then got a few hours to get together, pick a couple of songs, rehearse and then play on the Fireside Stage! At least one of the Scramble Bands will be designated as an Old Time Music band. You do not need to be an expert player or singer, however all players should be comfortable with jamming/playing in multiple keys. How Does It Work?
Anyone can sign up to be a part of this crazy event! Sign up on your own or encourage your buddies to signup up for the draw bands!
Some new players may want to experience their first time on stage, maybe another stepping out into soloing, others may be very experienced but haven’t shared the stage with each other before. This is a great time to show off the bluegrass and old-time traditions of mentorship! Each Draw Band will perform on the Fireside stage with the Pickin' Parlor Live sound set-up. Be sure to attend the orientation in the Europa Room to learn about performing with our microphone set-up. |
