August Fest 2026 - August 6–9, 2026 - El Rancho Mañana Campground - Richmond, MN
August Festival is not just about listening to amazing performances on the big stages, it’s also a chance to play music with others, learn about how the music is made, and even get hands-on instruction from national and regional artists—at no additional cost!
Below is the full schedule of all of the participatory activities available all weekend. Use the popup menus to see what’s available each day and in each location.
There are four main venues for these activities:
Showcase & Dance Tent:
Showcases are an opportunity to see high level performing musicians demonstrate and talk about their experiences. They can be found at the Showcase Tent. All-ages dances happen in the Showcase Tent on both Friday and Saturday as well.
Workshop Tent A & B:
Workshops happening in the Workshop Tents A & B are hands-on learning opportunities where you will walk away with new knowledge or skills. Artists from the bands appearing on the mainstage share their ideas and expertise.
Each workshop is limited to 10-15 participants. Please sign up at the workshop signup table each day. If the workshop you’re interested in is full, you may still go and listen, but you may not be able to directly participate.
The Gathering Place:
The Gathering Place is where jams will occur. We will offer Beginner Welcome Jams to help new festival goers and veterans connect and refresh on jam circle etiquette. There will also be “Jam the with the Band” opportunities to connect and learn from local bands and ask individual questions.
Even if there is not an “organized” jam in the Gathering Place at a particular time, you are welcome to hang out and jam to your heart’s content!
